The workshop aims to obtain a pluralistic view of Piazza Garibaldi by intersectingdifferent perspectives.
Piazza Garibaldi is a complex place characterized by varioustypes of users. Alongside the original residents, new communities of immigrantscoexist. The process of touristification affecting the city of Naples has alsoincreased the flow of tourists moving from the station to the city center and viceversa, blending with the many commuters who daily travel from the province for studyor work.
The square is a dynamic and fluid place but often a contested space amongdifferent users, including numerous homeless individuals seeking refuge in thestation's spaces designed by Dominique Perrault.
Students are invited to construct their own "drift" in the square, searching forclues that tell the diverse stories that "inhabit" the places.
Through photographs, interviews and drawings, they are encouraged to build their personal map of Piazza Garibaldi and present their vision of the place through a collage.
