The Design Laboratory for Habitat Sustainability [2023] is conducted by proff. K. Fabbricatti and P. Scala, with arch. M. Di Paolo and arch. PhD M. Fierro, at University of Naples Federico II, Department of Architecture, Co.De. degree program. The laboratory provides students with theoretical, methodological, and practical tools for designing collective spaces. The aim is to manage the relationship between user needs, built environment performance, and technology, considering the evolving community structures of contemporary society. The focus is on resilience and habitat sustainability. Students develop projects modeled on "Eclectic Atlases", offering complex interpretations that lead to key project questions, which then guide the creation of site-specific design processes. Each atlas consists of the group work section – the complex readings – and the narrative of the design process, prepared by smaller groups within the larger group. In the video, the entire teaching process and some of the results are reconstructed.
